What we offer.
Our work ranges from bookkeeping / accountancy and payroll accounting to annual financial statements and tax returns through to tax consultancy and individual case advice.
If you should be tax-liable, please note that we can only consult regarding German tax topics. We are able to evaluate international cases on the German tax side. We cannot help you with taxes in other countries since we are experts for German taxation only - including international double tax agreements.
We are happy to do your bookkeeping if you are self-employed. If you would like to have just your own prepared tax declarations revised by us, we can to this as well and tell you whether you have correctly prepared your own tax return.
We are particularly keen to help non-profit initiatives - regardless of whether they are formally recognised as non-profit by the tax office. We also give advise in English in case you would prefer it, and have some knowledge of international tax law. Since we started our work, we are also working with people who are active in arts which is another field we are a bit more experienced in.
We understand tax consulting as a social profession. We support you in fulfilling your tedious tax obligations while you yourself must remain responsible for legal reasons, so you must know what we're doing.
For us, social tax consulting means:
1. Simple processes. We give advice when certain designs require a lot of work. We reject superfluous tools. We don't want to enrich ourselves and we don't want to give the majority of our income to Big Tech.
2. Fee transparency. Our fees are based on the tax advisory fees act (StBVV) which provides the rules. The fees are based on the scope and difficulty of a job, as well as on your financial success. In this context, we try to give you a rough estimate in the initial consultation.
3. The more you do yourself, the cheaper it is going to be. Work that does not require special qualifications can actually be done on your side, for example scanning and/or pre-sorting documents and compressing them to a manageable size. This allows us to work more efficiently and offer our help to other people.
4. Help in times of need. Emergencies are our priority. If you no longer dare to open letters, we may be able to help. However, we always have to see what resources we have.
5. Selection of mandates. We receive too many requests to accept all of them, so we have to choose who we can help. We are aware of the responsibility. We make this decision based on what matches our way of working and a forecast of how well we can imagine working together.
6. No help for the intolerant. Nazis, climate change deniers, members of right-wing parties, people who are against an open and queer society as well as radical capitalists and haters of all kind may please move on; we don't have any resources for you here.
Tax advisory - the social way.
Our contribution to climate protection.
We get green electricity from Green Planet Energy. We do not own a car but we travel by public transport or by bike when necessary, thus making our contribution to limiting global warming.
We use a small office space in Patrick's apartment, saving on space and heating costs. We have successfully replaced a large proportion of local meetings with online meetings (and thus could avoid a lot of trips).
We already use modern and energy-saving technology and rely on the digitalisation of all accountanncy mandates and digital data exchange, including data exchange with public authorities as far as possible. This way we avoid unnecessary consumption of resources and the sending of letters - quite successfully: Our paper consumption is very low nowadays.
